Blown Away By The Porsche 911 Turbo S
As expected of a flagship model, the Porsche 911 Turbo has a long list of delectable extras which makes it more special, like the high-tech turbocharger, electronically controlled all-wheel-drive and the aerodynamically-efficient air intake scoops.
.
But none of these comes close to its acceleration figures or the way they are delivered. B'coz for the first time ever, a Porsche production model with automatic transmission accelerates faster than their manual option model.
.
The 5-speed Tiptronic S takes only 3.7 secs to zip from zero to 100kmph, compared to their 6-speed manual's of 3.9secs. Going up to 200kmph, it read 12.2 secs vs 12.8 secs for the manuals. Intriguing though it may be, the trick to it (as Porsche Engineers says) - with the left foot on the brakes, the right blips the gas pedal to build up boost pressure faster, before taking-off. The improved converter lock-up clutch reduces wheel-spins, plus the Tiptronic S has faster gearshift and reaction time than the manual box. Of course, these only complement Porsche's most significant innovation - the twin turbo's Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG).
.
VTG - incorporates guide blades that open or close to regulate turbocharger pressure at about one bar, notwithstanding the amount of exhaust gas flow. As a result, turbo lag - the Archilles heel of the turbo engine - is banished. VTG has been used in TDI units for years but the extremely high exhaust gas temperatures of petrol engines have prevented their wider use, up til now. Without the lag, the linearity of the 911 Turbo is startling!
.
Floor the pedal and the car will jump with a mean snarl and the digital speedo will reach 150kmph in a blink. Soon after, it reads 200kmph and before you even perspire enough, 250kmph is within reach. The breathtaking part is not the speed, but how the Turbo reels the power in so very quickly. However, these undaunting turbo power are paralleled with sureity of the new all-wheel-drive system called Porsche Traction Management (PTM), which is electronically controlled, unlike the previous viscous-coupling setup.

With the PTM system, the torque distribution to the front and rear axles can be varied infinitely, with up to 100% delivered to the front wheels if necessary (max. of 400Nm of torque). PTM's faster response also helps to correct oversteer and understeer more quickly.
.
Whatever the electronic wizardry wired into the Turbo, the fact remains that it is incredibly entertaining. The two turbos spool so enthusiastically and the power delivered so evenly. Despite being faster, the Turbo is also more frugal. The new Turbo has an extra 60bhp over the previous models.
.
The Porsche 911 Turbo comes with the optional Sports Chrono Package - with additions of modified engine response, more agile, active AWD & suspensions, reconfigurations of the intervention threshold of the active safety aids and overboost capability. The Overboost allows increase in the turbo pressure by 0.2 bar, effectively raising the torque to the max at 680Nm.
.
There is no doubt that Porsche has raised the technological bar with the new 911 Turbo even as the styling remains conservatively evolutionary. Simply put, the superior engine response and PTM are the two biggest differences compared with the previous Turbo flagship.
.
The 911 Turbo now boast a wider body, 22mm at rear-body, comes with 19 inches alloys as standard. Overall weight is down by 14kgs, thanks to the new aluminium doors and front lid.
.
Specifications:
Engine : 3,600cc Flat-6 Twin Turbo
GearBox : 5-speed Tiptronic S

Image hosting by Photobucket Image hosting by Photobucket Image hosting by Photobucket Image hosting by Photobucket Advanced Toyota new concept packaging brings fresh new appeal to the bold, unique styling of the YARIS. In a glance, one may not realise the remarkably spacious cabin with class; leading couple distance between the front and rear seats despite the compact exterior. Designed to meet the competitive & rear-seat flexibility allows various seating arrangements, via easy to fold seats,to meet changing needs. The newly developed suspension and highly rigid body contribute to agile manoeuvrability and supremely stable handling. The new standard for the next generation of compact cars.

Design - Make all the right moves in the simple, yet striking new cockpit. The new lop-concept layout is achieved by strategically using light colors for the upper areas of the interior and dark colors for the lower areas.

The Yaris is powered by a 1.5-litre VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing -intelligent) engine that optimally varies the timing of the intake valves to match driving conditions. Whether you're in stop-and-go city traffic or driving long distance, the Yaris delivers responsive performance, excellent fuel economy, and drastically reduced exhaust emissions. Flush exterior surfaces on the streamlined body cut through the wind and further improve fuel efficiency.

Verna-ciously Nice...
Broke the Verna jinx!! I'm possibly the last in the whole of Hyundai sales personnel & inventories, I'm sure, to finally sell the new flagship model and proud about it!! (not too proud for being the last, though!)
This is the replacing model for the long-existing Accent series. The new Hyundai Verna, comes in a 1400c.c. and 1600c.c. for both their Manual & Automatic transmissions. They also comes in options of 4-doors sedans, 5-doors hatchbacks and even 2-doors coupes!!

Tagged to be the best competitor for the KIA Rio, Chevrolet Optra, some even put it alongside the Japs, like the Toyota Vios, Nissan Sunnies and even the thai-assembled Honda City! The new Verna will indefinitely give these other budget sedans a run for their money. It is, in my personal opinion, a much better car than the predecessor; Accent; which has been around for almost 8 years old! A real value-for-money deal.

Well, I am pleased to include the pictures of my very-first Verna... all of 1400 c.c., Auto... and the first 'Leaf Green' to be registered for 2006!

Image hosting by PhotobucketSince this being my first Verna, I gave my lucky customer the full options - without having to come out much more than a few SG dollars!! Drool-over their spanking, new 16" alloys upgrades. There's still going to be the Cool & Lite Premiums soalrfilm, door-window visors, LCD reverse sensors and not forgetting a full-tank filled with Shell's V-Power! We agreed on 50/50 for the beige leather options, that they wanted (it was a last minute decision, by the way). They're one happy new owner, for sure!

With a no-cash-upfront, a new model sedan with full accessories and all-that, with a monthly installments of less than $3oo!!?! That's a lot to be offered for a budget-car, dont you think?!?!?! .... So, if you're really interested to know more about my special deals for my Hyundai cars...at a consultation fee of just a good teh-tarik!! (or two!)..., then don't hesitate to give me a call at my hotline...it'll be my pleasure of enticing you with my excellent offer....

MMmmm..my big, chromed pipe!!
Do-It-Yourself!!! Woohhoooo! Yup!! I did it...

It all started with a broken original plastic-hose for my air-intake system the other day. Must have been the intense heat that've been generated by my V6 all this while!! As you all know how anal it can get to find such parts, especially for a car as absolete as mine :( Well, now I've got a valid excuse to spend a lil time with my bella, bring her to the workshop, pop-up her voluptous bonnet-top and get to see if there any 'Nip & Tuck' works that needs to be done (at least, wifey thinks I'm not going to spend any $$$!! hehe).

Me got hold of Dr.Man from Man Exhausts (another one of Dr.Evil partners), ran through with him of what I have in mind, how I want my new intake-setup to be and he gave me all the workable options (that took us 45 minutes..) After that's done, I bought-off some raw materials from him, abused his welding machine, amongst other things! Haha..! Yup...I did it all by myself!! I was an apprentice..what took the workshop guys 15 minutes to weld, took me a damn, freakin' hour or so!! That is right....I got done welding my own 3" galvanized cyclindrical steel to the customized shape, the length that was right and the angle that I wanted, treated it thorough and worked on till it struck 2359hrs!!! Shit! I went AWOL!!!

Nonetheless, it was a fantastic experience and I had a real blast trying to figure out how to seal the weld-thread!...it was excellent! ...and I'm proud to show you my labour-of-love....

Image hosting by Photobucket

....managed to sent it for chroming too...! There's the K&N filter-breather to add...

Image hosting by Photobucket
See how big and long my intake-pipe turnsout to be?!?!... haha.. Now I'm left to finish-up with the heat-reflectors/shields - all customized and full-lined with ceramic-pads.

What's the gains, if you're to ask? Well, I've gained significantly on my low-end torque and with standard driving, I'm clockingapproximately about 40km more (overall) on the mileage for per litre consumption-gauge. I am pleased with that...for now... haha! Apart from that, my throttle response has improved quite a bit, the ride's seems to be better and most importantly, there's T-power right when you need it!! T=throttle, that is!!..

All these gains from a carefully caliberated, customized air-intake system which don't only improves my performance, but also gives the 'killer' look everytime I pop the bonnet!! All with a damage of only half of the price you'll be paying for some crappy, half-shit air-intake setups, which u can find in the big, big market...
What's ur take on my first (of many) project??....

My Year-End Wish for 2005....
That is it!!! My last car for 2005 - registered in 29 December 2005, a parallel-imported Toyota Wish '06 series MPV 1.8CVT X-spec, in the new Pearl White series that my customer die-die wanted!! On top of that, he also insisted to have the same red-black leather combinations, just like those in my car ;p

At $70,000.00, with COE of 1-bid guaranteed, OMV of $24k and a complete accessories of full red/black leather, MP3 player, front-seats armrest, reverse sensors, immobilizer security system, rear-board cover, Cool&Lite solarfilm, 15" sports alloys and wind-reflectors...you think it a damn good deal!?!?!!....You think so? ....I sure think so!!! hehehee

Image hosting by Photobucket
You have just got to see it in the sun!! The pearls just comes alive...!!

Image hosting by Photobucket
The carbon-graphite interior panels adds class to the cabin...!

Image hosting by Photobucket
We're now in the midst of fixing in the DVD-LCD screens on the headrest, with nice ICE setup too!

Next poison : A nice set of 17" forged alloys, coilovers, some seriously-obscene WALD ground-effects......

12:13 AM

The almost forgotten alloys....
Well...well...who would've expected!! I know I did not...just to say the least!! But hell...I'm a happy man! The rims that I've been waiting for, for more than half a year.....(felt more like a lifetime!!).... are finally here!! There they were, out from nowhere, just "plonked" right at my doorstep... (not literally though!)..haha!.. Quite honestly, I've almost forgotten about them! Placed the order through a foreign catalog sometime in February 2005...and here it is, just near X'mas!!...... Swell! Swell!!...but just check these out!!

The New GTA rims...all of 17-inches, 10kilograms of
brilliant-silver-finished piece of art....

...and the reason why it was so damn late!!.... (check out where it's from..!!)

Then, there's the much sought-after : AR-T-i 205 Light Alloys!..yup, its all of only 7kg & powder-coated too!

Well....am pleased to include the pictures of a A156 JTS fitted with the New GTA rims !!

Well just for the records, I've ordered 2 sets of each...and now..I'm left with a set of each!! My friends, it was well worth the wait, I'd say!!! Aye!!
